P. D. Hinduja Hospital has partnered with the Government of Uttar Pradesh to strengthen maternal and adolescent healthcare through a focused capacity-building and public health initiative. The collaboration aims to support healthcare professionals and improve awareness around key maternal, reproductive and adolescent health priorities.

The programme will cover 35 districts of Uttar Pradesh and is part of P. D. Hinduja Hospital’s year-long “Saving Lives. Building a Healthier Bharat” initiative, launched during the hospital’s 75th year. The national initiative was inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu in February 2026 and focuses on extending healthcare outreach and expertise beyond the hospital’s facilities into communities across India.

The Uttar Pradesh programme was launched by Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Minister of Medical Health & Family Welfare, at the Ram Prakash Gupta Maternity & Child State Referral Hospital in Lucknow. The partnership brings together P. D. Hinduja Hospital and the State Transformation Commission, Government of Uttar Pradesh (STC-UP) to improve access to screening, timely care, counselling and referral support.

A key component of the initiative is the deployment of two fully equipped Mobile Health Units, which will take healthcare services closer to underserved communities. The units will provide point-of-care diagnostics, counselling and referral services, with a focus on pregnant and lactating women under the Matrishakti programme and adolescents aged 13–19 years through the Yuva component. Qualified clinical and technical teams will support service delivery, while STC-UP will facilitate district-level coordination and access to schools and community locations.

The adolescent health component aligns with broader public-health priorities around nutrition, reproductive and sexual health, mental health and prevention of non-communicable diseases. Uttar Pradesh’s adolescent health framework under RKSK covers the 10–14 and 15–19 years age groups and focuses on both in-school and out-of-school adolescents.

The partnership reflects a growing focus on public-private collaboration and last-mile healthcare delivery in Uttar Pradesh. By combining mobile diagnostics, health awareness, screening and referral services across 35 districts, P. D. Hinduja Hospital and the Uttar Pradesh government aim to strengthen preventive and supportive healthcare for mothers and adolescents and complement the state’s existing health infrastructure.
